Winners named in Kurt Lattimer Aspiring Artist Award contest

Winners of the Kurt Lattimer Aspiring Artist Award were announced on Jan. 22 during the Madison County Arts Council’s Young Artist Showcase at London First United Methodist Church.

The contest is open to Madison County high school seniors. Winners receive cash prizes. The work of all of this year’s entrants is on display through the end of February at London City Hall, 20 S. Walnut St.

This year, 16 students entered a total of 24 pieces of art. The students hailed from London, Madison-Plains, and Jonathan Alder high schools, as well as Tolles Career & Technical Center.

Harlie Evans took first place in the three-dimensional art category of the Kurt Lattimer Aspiring Artist Award contest.
