New Delhi, Feb 9 (EFE).- The India Art Fair opened Thursday showcasing the South Asian art scene, with emerging digital art as one of its central themes.
The importance that the organizers of IAF have attached to this booming discipline is palpable as soon as visitors enter the huge NSIC venue in New Delhi, which is hosting the fair until Sunday, with a stand dedicated to the progress of digital art that exhibits several NFTs (non-fungible token).
Digital art “is nothing more than how people use programming in the creative process, as a tool to create art or express things,” artist Nitant, who prefers to be known by his stage name ‘Pixelart’, explained to Efe.
He and three friends generated an algorithm capable of reading random QR codes resulting from transactions that take place on the blockchain, and “generate artwork through the code,” Pixelart added in front of the booth, which offers the possibility of downloading for free one of the 3,200 NFTs they have created using this method.
