A digital art experience in Dublin will allow visitors to upload images of themselves onto a giant head sculpture “resulting in the world’s most spectacular selfie”.
Organisers say The Giant Experience, which will open at Central Plaza in Dublin city centre on Wednesday, will bring “a new genre of spectacular immersive digital art” to Ireland.
Visitors will be scanned in Ireland’s only volumetric scanning theatre and their moving image will then be displayed on a four-metre-tall, LED-clad “Giant Head”. The exhibition will also feature two smaller head sculptures.
The scanning theatre will also generate a full-body “holographic avatar” of each visitor, which they can then use to explore virtual worlds.
The exhibition includes information about giants and giant slayers from legend and mythology, as well as global game changers from history.
The Giant Experience is a creation of The Giant Company, a Dublin-based company led by entrepreneur Paddy Dunning.
